NSC gives thumbs-up to Sarawak's handling of Covid-19 pandemic

KUCHING: The National Security Council (NSC) has commended the Sarawak disaster management committee for its handling of the Covid-19 pandemic in the state.

NSC director-general Datuk Rodzi Md Saad said Sarawak's rollout of the vaccination programme was also exemplary.

"The NSC is thankful for the full support and cooperation given by the state government during the pandemic,” he said.

"We look forward to bringing the cooperation to greater heights in future," added Rodzi during a courtesy call on Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly complex here on Monday (Aug 15).

Uggah is also the state disaster management committee chairman.

Rodzi said the strong ties between the federal and state governments augured well for the people's wellbeing and the nation's economy and security.

"We must complement each other for the greater good of our national interest," he added.
