Anti-party hopping Bill gets unanimous Dewan Negara approval


KUALA LUMPUR: The Dewan Negara has unanimously given the green light for the anti-hopping Bill.

Seven senators were absent when the voting took place, with 52 senators present supporting the Bill, with 33 senators participating in the debate on Tuesday (Aug 9).

The Constitution (Amendment) Bill (No. 3) 2022 was tabled for its second reading by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob earlier on Tuesday.
