Selangor BN convention: We are 'tired' of being the opposition in Selangor, says Najib

SHAH ALAM: Barisan Nasional is "tired" of being the opposition in Selangor but winning the next general election will require "flexibility", says the coalition's advisory panel member Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

"It won't be much longer. We feel it's close.

"There are ways that we can be flexible so we can win. There must be flexibility. If we need to adjust, we adjust," said the former prime minister.

He said that economic growth in Selangor since Pakatan Harapan took over had been slower than other states.

"Their track record is not that impressive. This is based on data from the Statistics Department," he said.

Najib said that Pakatan did not have an "understanding" with the Federal Government even though Barisan wants the best for Selangor, quoting the example of the Langat Dua water treatment project that the state government did not agree to.

Najib also congratulated the Barisan-led government on the successful passing of the anti-party hopping Bill in Parliament recently

"We want those who lie to be punished. How would we have punished them if there were no laws?

"Only during the elections can we do so... punish them in the elections. Barisan has to tell them enough is enough," he said.
