Woman killed in road accident near Paloh


BATU PAHAT: A woman was killed in an accident involving two vehicles near Paloh here.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ismail Dollah said the accident was reported around 5pm on Tuesday (July 19).

“The truck driven by a 41-year-old man, was headed towards Paloh from Yong Peng when it skidded into the opposite lane and rammed into another van.”

He added that the passenger in the van, a 37-year-old woman suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene, while the van's driver, also 37, was seriously injured.

“However, the truck driver was uninjured and has been detained for further investigation,” he said.

ACP Ismail said the case was being investigated under section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The injured victim was sent to the Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail in Batu Pahat for further treatment.

The body of the deceased was also sent to the same hospital for a post-mortem.
