It was reported that a death threat was sent via a text message early Tuesday.
A report was lodged at the TTDI police station.
The case is being investigated for criminal intimidation by anonymous communication and insulting behaviour.
On Tuesday, black and red paint was thrown at the club.
The signboard and front door of the premises had been splashed with red and black paint. The paint also hit the adjacent premises.
The comedy club has been at the centre of attention after a 54-second video circulated on social media showing a woman claiming to have memorised 15 juz of the Quran and then discarding her tudung and baju kurung, leaving her in a low-cut top and short skirt.
On July 10, DBKL announced the suspension of the comedy club pending investigations of the premises' licence.
Shortly after, the owner was detained by the police after videos of past comedy routines were found where he allegedly touched on religious sensitivities.
