‘Get your Covid-19 booster’

KUALA LUMPUR: Those who have not yet taken their Covid-19 booster dose are advised to do it in view of the rising number of infected cases.

Non-boosted Malaysians who have tested positive for the virus or are at high risk are also urged to get the anti-viral drug Paxlovid, which has been made available at the Health Ministry’s facilities since April 15.

Paxloid is the first oral antiviral drug in Malaysia to treat Covid-19 patients with mild to moderate symptoms (Categories Two and Three).

“Get boosted, if you haven’t. Get Paxlovid, if you’re high-risk and Covid-19 positive,” Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin tweeted yesterday.

He reminded Malaysians to wear face masks when being in enclosed or crowded areas, besides practising the TRIIS (Test, Report, Isolate, Inform, Seek) method, Bernama reported.

Khairy said Paxlovid was also available free of charge at private health facilities but patients who frequent these places would be subjected to consultation service and other related charges.
