KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah extended their Hari Raya Aidiladha greetings to all Muslims in the country.
Their Majesties also expressed hope that sacrificial rites will be carried out in the best way possible, blessed and accepted by Allah.
“May we be granted guidance, blessings and His pleasure,” said Their Majesties in a poster uploaded on Istana Negara’s account on Instagram.
Muslims celebrate Aidiladha today.
In Shah Alam, Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, in a post via the Selangor Royal Office account on Facebook, expressed their gratitude to Allah that the people are still able to celebrate Aidiladha in a moderate and harmonious atmosphere.
Their Highnesses pray that Muslims who are performing their haj in Mecca will always be protected by Allah and for their safe return.
Their Highnesses also hope that the people will continue to be vigilant against Covid-19.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, meanwhile, said Hari Raya Aidiladha teaches Muslims to be grateful for the blessings granted by Allah and be willing to help the needy.
The willing-to-help attitude is in line with the Keluarga Malaysia (Malaysian Family) concept which he introduced in August last year to ensure no one is left behind, Bernama reported.
Ismail Sabri also said the government is doing its best to address the impact of inflation, including setting up a special task force dubbed Jihad Tangani Inflasi (Jihad on Addressing Inflation) to resolve difficulties faced by the people.
“But the government cannot do this alone and everyone needs to work together to address the challenges to ensure the economy recovers,” he said in a special Aidiladha message broadcast live on television last night.
The Prime Minister said the willingness to sacrifice wealth to help the poor is a virtue called for by Islam and it is a symbol of obedience, piety and servitude to Allah.
He added that Aidiladha, which is closely linked to repentance, sacrifice, togetherness and gratitude, gives great meaning to Muslims to continue to live in harmony despite various uncertainties and setbacks.
He also expressed his hope for the well-being and safety of more than 14,000 Malaysian pilgrims in Mecca.
“My family and I would like to wish all Muslim members of Keluarga Malaysia ‘Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha’ wherever you are,” he said.
