AMPANG: A 25-year-old security guard was detained for assaulting his younger sister and elderly grandmother at their home in Kampung Tasik Tambahan here.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the suspect had allegedly thrown two buckets at his 23-year-old sister before slapping his 64-year-old grandmother and pouring warm water on her body once he reached home at about 9.30pm on Tuesday (June 28).

"Both victims suffered various injuries and they were treated at Hospital Ampang.

"We detained the suspect on Wednesday (June 29), and he has been remanded until Sunday (July 3)," he said when contacted on Friday (July 1).

The suspect tested negative for drugs, he said.

"He became angry when the victims refused to give him money.

"We will investigate the matter further," he added.

ACP Mohamad Farouk said the case is classified under Section 323 and Section 506 of the Penal Code for causing harm and making threats.
