Quek Tai Seong appointed as Dr Wee’s pol-sec


PETALING JAYA: Quek Tai Seong took the Oath of Secrecy in front of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as the political secretary to Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

Dr Wee, in a congratulatory post on his Facebook page, said Quek, 43, who is MCA division chairman, Pahang MCA secretary and MCA central committee, has vast experience in administrative matters.

“Previously, he served as a senior manager at a multinational company, British Petroleum.

“Quek is also an experienced person in administrative matters because he was my special officer when I held the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department portfolio in 2016,” he said.

Besides Quek, the Kelantan MCA chairman was also appointed as a political secretary to the Prime Minister.

“Chua Hock Kuan is one of the young leaders who is popular among the people on the east coast for his fluency in the Kelantan dialect. He is also known for his easy-going personality and his love to help others regardless of their religion, race and background,” Dr Wee said.

The Bachelor of Sports Science from University Malaya and Masters of Business Administration (Leadership) graduate from Unirazak served as Datuk Seri Utama Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin’s special officer from 2008 until 2013.

He also had the opportunity to work as the special officer to Tan Sri Annuar Musa when he was the Federal Territories and Communications and Multimedia minister.

“I am confident that Quek and Chua will be able to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to them and help the government to defend the Malaysian Family.

“Congratulations and good job!” Dr Wee said.
