JOHOR BARU: The Tebrau Shuttle - a Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) train service between here and Woodlands in Singapore - will resume on June 19.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said the service which connects Johor Bahru Sentral and Woodlands had been suspended temporarily since March 24, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"I am glad to announce that KTMB is now prepared to resume its operations for the Tebrau Shuttle service.
"Ticket sales will start from 3am on June 13 for train services between June 19 and July 18," he said after visiting and checking on the progress of the Rapid Transit System Link (RTS Link) at Bukit Chagar here on Saturday (June 11).
Dr Wee added that a total of 31 trips would be made available to ferry people between Singapore and Johor Baru.
"Out of the 31 trips, 18 are services from Johor Bahru Sentral to Woodlands and the remaining 13 are from Woodlands to Johor Baru.
"The train has a maximum capacity of 320 passengers with a frequency of one train every 30 minutes," he said.
Dr Wee said the tickets were priced at RM5 for a trip from Johor Baru to Woodlands and S$5 from Woodlands to Johor Baru.
"There will be no ticket charge for children below the age of four. Passengers would be using their passports as the official ticket to check-in at either station in Johor Baru or Woodlands,” he said.
