PETALING JAYA: Umno supreme council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi (pic) has called out Tan Sri Annuar Musa for giving “inaccurate” information on the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the government and Pakatan Harapan.

Puad said the Umno top five leaders had decided that there would be no MOU 2.0 after July 31.

“This means that the MOU between the government and Pakatan will expire in July 2022.

“The decision was affirmed during our last supreme council meeting.

“It will not be renewed. It has been confirmed. Maybe Annuar Musa did not read or follow the decision, besides he is not a supreme council member,” he said in a statement Friday (June 3).

On Thursday (June 2), Annuar said the MOU between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Pakatan leaders last September had no expiry date.

He said what was agreed upon in the MOU was that the next general election (GE15) could not be held before July 31.

Puad said there was no reason for the MOU to be renewed given that Pakatan has failed to comply with certain things.

“The MOU will only extend Pakatan’s lifeline. It did not help the nation's political stability. Politicking still happens.

“Therefore, Annuar Musa should not make a statement that contradicts the party's decision.

“He should follow the party’s decisions,” Puad added.
