KUALA LUMPUR: The proposed Cybercrime Act is expected to be enforced in early 2027, according to the Home Ministry.

In a written parliamentary reply dated Monday (Oct 12), the ministry stated that Malaysia's legal framework has already been strengthened through recent amendments to the Penal Code—specifically with the insertion of Sections 424A, 424B, 424C(1), and 424C(2)—as well as Section 116D of the Criminal Procedure Code.
