Ex-Kampar MP Hew See Tong passes away


IPOH: Former Kampar MP Tan Sri Hew See Tong has passed away.

Hew passed away due to complications resulting from pneumonitis at a private hospital here at about 6am on Sunday (May 22). He was 91.

He leaves behind Puan Sri Woon Mun Fah, 86, three children and nine grandchildren.

Hew, who joined MCA when he was 28 years old, was a former three-term Kampar MP from 1995 to 2008.

He was also a former tin miner, developer, educator and a well-known philanthropist.

He is known to have started Bandar Baru Kampar and also donated a piece of land for the setting up of Tunku Abdul Rahman College's third campus in Kampar.
