IPOH: Two women have gone missing during a hiking trip at Gunung Suku on Sunday (May 15).
A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they received a distress call on the matter at 6.55am Sunday.
"The women, in their 40s, were part of a group of 29 people that went hiking there.
"The remaining 27 hikers have arrived safely at the foot of the hill," the spokesman said.
The spokesman said the operation to locate the missing women is now ongoing.
"It will take about two to three hours to reach the location where the victims are believed to be," he said.
He added that the victims are believed to have been swept away by a sudden gush of water from a stream.
The victims have been identified as See Su Yen, 30, and Ng Yee Chew, 46.
Gunung Suku is located between Cameron Highlands in Pahang and Simpang Pulai, Perak.
