Traffic congestion reported on several highways

PETALING JAYA: Traffic is moving slowly on several highways on Saturday (April 30), ahead of the Hari Raya celebrations next week.

The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) tweeted at 5.30pm that traffic is slow moving on the PLUS highway from Slim River to Bidor, Tapah to Gopeng after the Sg Perak tunnel, Bandar Baharu to Jawi and Juru to Sg Dua via Perai and Seberang Jaya.

Traffic congestion was also reported around the Gombak to Lentang stretch (KL-Karak Highway) via Genting Sempah and Bukit Tinggi.

An alert of an accident on the PLUS highway at KM133.8 Northbound from Juru to Sungai Dua involving two vehicles was reported. Both vehicles have moved to the emergency lane.

There is also congestion on the same highway at KM235.1 Southbound from Pedas Linggi to Simpang Ampat caused by a trailer that had broken down.

Another trailer breakdown was reported on the NKVE northbound from Subang to Damansara.

Traffic on the Causeway is still congested from Singapore to the Sultan Iskandar CIQ Complex, while slow-moving traffic is expected on the Second Link from Singapore to Malaysia.

LLM advised road users to drive safely and maintain a safe distance between vehicles.

The public can obtain the latest information on the traffic situation from the LLM toll-free line 1-800 88-7752 and the Twitter account www.twitter.com/llminfotrafik.
