Johor police expect high-volume traffic this weekend

JOHOR BARU: Johor police are expecting a high number of vehicles to be on the road this weekend, which coincides with Labour Day and Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.State traffic police enforcement chief Supt M. Kumarasan said in terms of preparations, the police would be carrying out Ops Selamat in conjunction with the festive season between April 29 and May 8.

“Many people are expected to grab the opportunity of having such a long holiday period due to Hari Raya Aidilfitri so they will either go back to their hometown or just go for a vacation.“We expect to see a very high number of vehicles travelling either on the highways, federal roads, state roads or even city roads during that time,” he said when contacted yesterday.
