Melaka road fatalities increased 50% in first three months


MELAKA: A total of 48 road fatalities were recorded from January to March this year, an increase of 50% compared with 32 cases reported in the same period last year.

State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) head Supt Amran @ Mohamad Zaki Omar said the number was seen as worrying, and police would intensify awareness and road safety campaigns for motorists through “Ops Selamat 18” in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
