Covid-19: Second booster allowed for those aged 60 and above with comorbidities

PETALING JAYA: Those aged 60 and above with comorbidities will be allowed to get a second Covid-19 vaccine booster shot, says the Health Ministry.

Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said on Thursday (April 14) that this would be given four to six months after the first booster shot.

He also announced that moderate or severe immunocompromised individuals aged 12 and above are allowed to get the booster.

He also said travellers who need to fulfil their host country’s vaccination requirement will be allowed to receive their second booster shot.

He added the second booster shot can be taken at least one month after the first booster.

"Based on available scientific data, Pfizer has been recommended as the second booster dose," he said on Thursday (April 14).
