Nine-vehicle pile-up causes 20km jam on KL-Karak Highway


KUALA LUMPUR: An accident involving multiple vehicles including a lorry was reported on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK) at around 9.30am on Saturday (Jan 29).

Anih Bhd, the concessionaire for Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK) confirmed that the accident at KM4 on the eastbound lane of the expressway involving nine vehicles, caused traffic congestion from Gombak for almost two hours.

The Malaysian Highway Authority said in a Facebook post that the accident involved a container lorry with several other vehicles on the Genting Sempah-Bukit Tinggi route which resulted in the right and middle lanes being blocked.

The crash also caused a 20.5km congestion from MRR2 to Bukit Tinggi.

Meanwhile, according to @ LPTTrafik Twitter, as of 12.05pm, a crawl was reported from MRR2 to Gombak toll plaza towards Kuantan from KM22.3 to KM43.1 following the increase in vehicles.
