Thirty proposals make shortlist for institute's research grants

PETALING JAYA: The Institut Masa Depan Malaysia (MASA) Policy Development Programme (MPDP) research grant received 134 research proposals from 21 local and private universities and institutions.

The proposals are for research in seven focus areas for strategies as outlined under the on-going National Recovery Plan (NRP).

All research proposals went through a thorough selection process by the MPDP secretariat, followed by an evaluation by a team of panel reviewers and experts from their respective fields.

MASA says 30 of the research proposals have been shortlisted to receive a research grant of up to RM10,000 per policy brief.

Successful applicants were also encouraged to publish their research reports in highly acclaimed journals and reputable publications.

MPDP was introduced in September last year with the aim of enabling researchers and academicians to provide competitive decisions and policy inputs to assist in the implementation of the on-going national recovery process and governmental strategies and plans post Covid-19.

It was also aimed at exposing researchers and academicians to the formulation process of policy inputs that could contribute to high-impact research.

The list of shortlisted MPDP recipients can be found on MASA's social media platforms and website at https://institutmasa.com/masa-policy-development-programme-mpdp-research-grant/.
