BUKIT MERTAJAM: The two-term Perak state assemblyman Terence Naidu from DAP, who was arrested for alleged drug use on Thursday (Jan 13), has been released on police bail.
State Narcotics Crime Investigations Department chief Asst Comm Mustafa Kamal Gani Abdullah said he was released after his remand order expired.
"He was released on police bail at about 6pm on Friday (Jan 14)," ACP Mustafa Kamal said.
It is learnt that Naidu is a two-term assemblyman, although the police have remained tight-lipped about his identity.
During the raid, ACP Mustafa Kamal said 36 people tested positive for drugs.
Of the number, he said 28 of them were men, including the state assemblyman, while the rest were women.
All of them are aged between 21 and 70, he said.
In the raid, a total of 48 people were arrested.
