SHAH ALAM: Flood victims in need of relief and basic necessities can reach out to the Crisis Relief Squad of MCA (CRSM).

Selangor Wanita MCA chief Tee Hooi Ling said those in affected areas can call CRSM headquarters at 03-2203 3979 or 019-669 6278 for help.

“The Meteorological Department has predicted that there will be heavy rain over the next few days.

“We urge members of the public to stay vigilant and keep their important documents and valuables on higher ground.

“In case of a flood, they must be careful with their homes' power supply. Most importantly, they must evacuate when the situation worsens.

“Otherwise, they will get stuck inside their homes with no food and water while the rescue efforts will be difficult,” she said at Taman Sri Muda here on Wednesday (Dec 22).

Tee, together with MCA national organising secretary Ling Tian Soon and a team of CRSM volunteers, have been on the ground helping out with rescue and relief works.

“When I visited the flooded places in Pandamaran and other affected areas in Klang to give victims some food and aid on Sunday, the victims were devastated over the state of their homes.

“We hope more aid will be made available by the state and Federal government to help them rebuild. We will also do our best to help,” said Tee.

In conjunction with the Winter Solstice on Tuesday (Dec 21), MCA deputy treasurer-general Datuk Lawrence Low Ah Keong also arranged for 500 portions of tang yuan and 200 boxes of cakes for volunteers and victims at Taman Sri Muda.
