Kit Siang should retire from politics, says 'Superman Hew’

PETALING JAYA: Lim Kit Siang should retire from politics, says former DAP member Hew Kuan Yau.

Hew - also known as “Superman Hew” - said that Lim should retire so that new blood can lead the party.

“Lao Da (elder brother), talk less, make fewer statements, retire earlier and let the newcomers lead DAP,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday (Dec 20).

Hew was commenting on a statement made by Lim after Saturday’s Sarawak state elections.

Lim reportedly said that DAP would have won another five seats if not for the low voter turnout and the split in opposition votes.

In return, Hew urged Lim to stop making comments about politics.

DAP was left with only two seats after previously winning seven.

The party retained only the Pending and Padungan seats but lost in Kota Sentosa, Pujut, Pelawan, Bukit Assek and Tanjung Batu.
