KUCHING: The last of the 12th Sarawak election results has been announced, with Gabungan Parti Sarawak winning the Mulu seat.
Incumbent Datuk Gerawat Gala won the seat after polling 3,731 votes.
He won in a four-cornered fight with a majority of 2,875 votes.
A check made on the Election Commission website saw that the results were posted around midday Sunday (Dec 19).
This means that GPS won 76 out of the 82 seats, with four won by Parti Sarawak Bersatu and two by DAP.
The results for the Mulu seat could not be announced on Saturday as helicopters used to fly ballot boxes could not make it to the tallying centre due to bad weather
The other contestants for the Mulu seat namely Song Radu of Parti Sarawak Bersatu secured 856 votes, Ronald Engan (PKR) garnered 810 votes while Richard Ibuh of Parti Bumi Kenyalang received 199 votes.
