Sarawak Polls: GPS wins in Pelagus, retains Layar seat


KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) took another seat by winning in Pelagus.

Wilson Nyabong Ijang polled 2,843 against four other contenders.

The other candidates are Parti Sarawak Bersatu’s (PSB) Kristoffer Nyuak Bajok who garnered 1,794 votes; DAP’s Solomon Kumbong (250), Parti Bumi Kenyalang’s Nyambong Sibat (88) and Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru Moses Ripai (76).

Meanwhile, GPS has retained the Layar seat through PBB Youth chief Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, who secured 3,891 votes over PSB’s Isik Utau (1,852) in a straight fight.
