Sarawak Polls: DAP wins Padungan, Pending says EC

KUCHING: DAP has won the Padungan and Pending seats in the Sarawak State Election, says the Election Commission.

Chong Chieng Jen won the Padungan seat with a slim majority of 1,198 votes.

He secured 4,686 votes against Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s Datuk Wee Hong Seng with 3,488 votes.

PBK’s Raymond Thong garnered 930 votes while Aspirasi’s Lina Soo had 193 votes

Tong and Soo both lost their deposits.

Over in Pending, DAP’s Violet Yong Wui Wui had 5,188 votes, which gave her a 540-vote majority over GPS’ Milton Foo, who won 4,648 votes.

PSB’s Tan Kay Hok had 1,858 votes, PBK’s Teo Kuang Kim had 978 votes and Aspirasi’s Chan Chee Hiong won 204 votes.

Both Teo and Chan lost their deposits.
