THE Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) is marking its golden jubilee with some special edition memorabilia including commemorative coins and a stamp collection album, issued with the collaboration of Pos Malaysia Berhad and Bank Negara Malaysia.

The limited edition silver coin has a face value of RM10 while the Nordic gold coin has a face value of RM1.

The front of this commemorative coins is engraved with the image of an open umbrella over a group of 50 employees to symbolise the organisation’s 50 years of sheltering employees while the Socso headquarters building and the logos of Socso Prihatin and golden jubilee adorn the back of the coins along with the golden jubilee tagline “Prihatin Lima Dekad dan Selamanya”.

The “Setemku Korporate PERKESO 2021” stamp collection album will have 10 stamps of 60sen value, designed to reflect good relationship between employers and employees, along with significant logos similar to the coins.

These special coins will be available online from the end of November while the stamp collection album can be purchased now at https://sers.perkeso.gov.my/.

To commemorate its 50th anniversary, there is also the PERKESO corporate mini sheet designed according to the theme of the golden jubilee – Prihatin Lima Dekad dan Selamanya.

This special feature will contain pictures of Malaysia's second prime minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein and the person behind PERKESO’s formation, Tan Sri A.N. Ambo.

Joining in the collection is the PERKESO 2021 envelope which has a 60sen stamp and is printed with Cyberdyne on the cover – the special robot stationed at Socso’s Tun Abdul Razak rehabilitation centre in Melaka.

These collectibles were launched by Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan at Intercontinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur, in conjunction with PERKESO’s Deepavali celebration.

Saravanan lauded PERKESO for being clear with its goals and responsibilities towards employers and employers.

“During the 50 years of its establishment, PERKESO has successfully drafted a social safety network to protect and assist its contributors if they have met any unfortunate incident, not only while working but also when commuting to and from their workplace.

“I wish to call on every employees, including those self-employed, to play your role in contributing to PERKESO for social protection in the event of any incident,” said Saravanan.

The event was made merrier with the participation of 100 single mothers and children within the vicinity of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur who were treated to scrumptious meals and received duit Raya and festive hampers.

At the event, PERKESO chief executive Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Datuk Aziz Mohammed said he was proud of the success that the organisation achieved over the years.

“PERKESO will continue to diligently implement its mandate to serve society for the next 50 years and beyond,” he said.
