Real-time data on water supply restoration available to Klang Valley consumers

PETALING JAYA: Consumers in the Klang Valley can see real-time data on the water supply recovery percentage for affected areas as restoration starts in stages from 5pm on Thursday (Oct 14).

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) corporate communications head Elina Baseri said aside from the recovery rate, consumers can also see real-time data about the Public Water Taps and Commercial Filling Stations at https://hentitugas.airselangor.com.

“As of noon today (Thursday), the process of distributing water to the water supply distribution system to refill the reservoirs is under way and according to schedule.

“Water supply will be distributed to the consumers in stages starting from 5pm,” she said in a statement on Thursday.

The statement added that the duration of the disruption and recovery in affected areas will vary depending on the distance of consumers' premises and the water pressure in the distribution system.

The scheduled water supply disruption was due to the upgrading and maintenance works for critical assets in the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant (SSP1 WTP) on Wednesday (Oct 13).

"Air Selangor will continue to mobilise alternative water supply to critical premises such as hospitals, dialysis centres, Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centres and vaccination centres," she added.

Consumers may refer to Air Selangor's official communication channels – the Air Selangor app, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter – for more information, or call the Air Selangor Contact Centre at 15300.

Enquiries and complaints may also be submitted to the Help Centre via www.airselangor.com and the Air Selangor application.

A check on the hentitugas.airselangor.com found that users will be prompted for their location.

Users can also manually type in the area and choose their region to find out if the water supply was still affected.

A map is displayed with legends of "Areas that are still affected," "Supply with low pressure" and "Water supply has been restored."

In another list, users can also see the estimated recovery time, duration recovery time and recovery percentage of the affected areas.

The same map display also applies to the location details of the active Public Water Tap and Commercial Water Filling Station.

The website also features updates on incident status in a timeline.
