Bersatu terminates membership of Telok Mas rep Noor Effandi for exiting Melaka govt

MELAKA: The membership of Telok Mas assemblyman Datuk Noor Effandi Ahmad in Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia has been automatically terminated, says the party's state chief.

Datuk Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen said Noor Effandi had gone against party lines for attending a press conference to announce his exit from the Barisan Nasional-led Melaka government.

On Monday (Oct 4), Noor Effandi together with Umno state lawmakers Datuk Seri Idris Haron (Sungai Udang) and Datuk Nor Azman Hassan (Pantai Kundor), and Independent Datuk Norhizam Hassan Baktee (Pengkalan Batu), declared that they have lost confidence in the leadership of Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali.

On another note, Mohd Rafiq, who is also state Perikatan Nasional chief, announced that the coalition will hold a discussion with Melaka Umno to look into the possibility of cooperation if Melaka goes to the polls following the dissolution of the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday (Oct 5).
