Kisona’s dad wants cops to probe man who allegedly used racial slur against her

SEREMBAN: The father of national badminton player S. Kisona wants the police to investigate an individual who allegedly made a racist remark against his daughter in a Facebook post.

Retired policeman A. Selvaduray, 61, said the remark had not only disparaged his daughter but the Indian community as well.

"My daughter is both embarrassed and emotionally distressed by the remark.

"I hope the police will probe the individual," he said.

Selvaduray, who lodged a police report on Monday (Oct 4), said he was at home on Oct 2 when he was told that a Facebook user had allegedly posted a racist remark against Kisona.

The Facebook user, who is said to be a politician, had apparently taken it down later.

He reportedly apologised for his post and resigned from his position with a political party.

Kisona is a member of the Malaysian badminton team which made it to the Sudirman Cup’s semi-finals on Oct 2.

Selvaduray said his daughter had been in Finland representing the country since Sept 26 and will leave for Denmark for the Uber Cup next.
