Badminton: Kisona through to Hylo Open second round


PETALING JAYA: Professional women’s singles shuttler S. Kisona advanced to the second round of the Hylo Open after easing past Bulgaria’s Kaloyana Nalbantova 21-9, 22-20 in the opening round on Wednesday (Oct 29).

However, a tougher challenge awaits the 27 year old as she will take on world No. 7 Putri Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia in the next round.

Also through to the second round were mixed doubles pair Wong Tien Ci-Lim Chiew Sien, who defeated Brazil’s Fabricio Farias-Jaqueline Lima 21-14, 21-17.

They will next face Thailand’s sixth seeds Ruttanapak Oupthong-Jhenicha Sudjaiprakon.
