KOTA KINABALU: The office of Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin dismisses social media claims that he has lost confidence in Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

Bung's press secretary Jaafar Abd Wahid said, in a statement Monday (Oct 4) night, that Bung, who is Sabah Umno chief, has not made any statement to that effect.

"We believe some irresponsible people have purposely spread such statement attributed to Bung to take advantage of the current political situation in Melaka," he said.

Jaafar urged the public not to be taken in by such fake information being spread on social media.

The people doing it are likely to have vested political interests, he added.
