Warisan's Dr Yusof denies crossover talk for now

KOTA KINABALU: Opposition Parti Warisan Sabah Sindumin assemblyman Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob (pic) is widely expected to leave the party next week.

However, Dr Yusof has dismissed news reports that he has left the party as mere speculations.

However, he said if there were anything he would announce it later.

"It's speculations... nanti dulu (later)," he said when asked to comment on a report by Sinar Harian that he has quit the party.

He also distanced himself from a report quoting his media officer claiming that he decided to quit Warisan on Saturday.

"I don't know about it... its just speculations," he added.

Sinar Harian quoted Dr Yusof's media officer Mazlan Sanoh as saying that the Warisan information chief said that he will be become an independent assemblymen for now.

Mazlan said that Dr Yusof would announce his decision next week.

Mazlan also disclosed to Sinar Harian that Dr Yusof has left the party on Oct 2.

Warisan officials said they had heard of speculations on Dr Yusof leaving the party but there has been nothing official from the party leadership.

Dr Yusof had been speculated of leaving Warisan since last year but has denied it.

Political circles claim that Dr Yusof might be joining either Umno or Sabah PBBM.
