Sabah floods: 69 flood victims currently at two relief centres

KOTA KINABALU (Bernama) A total of 69 flood victims from 19 families are still at two relief centres (PPS) in Sabah as of Thursday (Sept 23).

The Sabah Disaster Management Secretariat said in a statement that 33 flood victims from 10 families are at the PPS at Dewan Mini Mesapol in Sipitang while 36 others from nine families are at the PPS at Dewan Sekolah Kebangsaan Tamau in Kota Belud.

"The water level in the rivers in Kota Belud are rising, so preparations are being made to open a new PPS should the need arise. Monitoring is being done at the flood hotspot areas," said the Secretariat.

As of Thursday, 39 areas in Kota Belud and 10 areas in Sipitang are still affected by floods.- Bernama
