Firemen rescue nine men trapped at Sg Kedondong


KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department rescued nine men who were trapped on a rock area during high tide at Sungai Kedondong, Kuala Kubu Bharu, near here Friday (Sept 17).

Its director, Norazam Khamis said the department received a distress call at 7.55pm, following which a team of firemen from the Kuala Kubu Bharu fire and rescue station rushed to the scene to rescue the victims, aged between 16 and 20.

When the fire team arrived at 8.27pm, only seven of them were still trapped, as two had been able to swim across the river to safety, he said in a statement on Saturday (Sept 18). - Bernama
