SIBU: The police have arrested six Indonesians and seized 17 replica weapons in their possession in Mukah on Friday (Sept 17).

Mukah OCPD Dept Supt Mohamad Rizal Alias said at about 3am, a team from the Immigration Department and the State Security and Enforcement Unit in the Chief Minister's Office raided a house on Jalan Orang Kaya Setiaraja which was occupied by the suspects.

"During the raid, they found six Indonesians aged from 25 to 39 whose travel documents had expired.

"They also found 17 replica weapons of various types and 12 packets of gel ball ammunition and two vehicles," he said, adding that the seized items are worth an estimated RM40,000.

DSP Mohamad Rizal added that one of the suspects, aged 27, had smuggled in the replica weapons from Indonesia to sell to local paintball enthusiasts, but was unable to sell them as the movement control order was in force.
