KUALA LUMPUR: Three drivers who were allegedly drunk were arrested in road operations early Thursday (Sept 16).

City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh, in a statement, said that the operation began at 9pm Wednesday (Sept 15) and concluded at 1am Thursday.

Traffic stops were conducted around Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Bangsar, Jalan Raja Laut and Jalan Kuchai Lama.

"In Jalan Kuchai, police arrested three men aged between 30 and 45 years old for driving under the influence of alcohol. They were taken to the Jalan Bandar traffic police station," he said.

Road operations in the city also led to 392 summonses issued and eight motorcycles seized for illegal modifications.

He added that the police would constantly be vigilant, especially on the public holidays, to prevent irresponsible road users from endangering others.
