Cops issue almost 1,000 summonses in traffic ops over weekend


KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic ops in the city over the weekend have led to nearly 1,000 summonses issued and 43 motorcycles seized for illegal modifications.

City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said in a statement on Sunday (Sept 12) that six arrests were also made at road blocks in Duta Kiara and along the Duke Highway for drunk-driving and reckless driving,

"As a whole, the operation from Sept 10 to Sept 12 led to 984 summonses issued for various offences, as well as 43 motorcycles seized for exhaust modifications.

"The department will continue launching operations, especially on the weekends, to prevent road menaces and to ensure the safety of road users," he said.
