KUALA LUMPUR: The ongoing 70% discount on summonses will continue to mark the country's 64th National Day, says the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

Kuala Lumpur JPJ director Mohd Zaki Ismail said the discount started on Aug 18 and would run until Sept 16.

"Offering the discount is to honour the resiliency and the caring nature of Malaysians in facing the Covid-19 pandemic," he said.

He urged the public to settle their summonses early instead of waiting for the last minute to pay up.

"The 70% discount offer is only applicable for summonses that can be compounded.

"Summonses which have pending court cases or have arrest warrants issued are not entitled for the discount," he said.
