NRP: Labuan moves to Phase 4, Negri to Phase 2 from Aug 26, says PM

PETALING JAYA: Labuan has moved to Phase Four of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a statement, said that current data showed Labuan has achieved a 92.4% herd immunity rate among adults.

"This is supported by data showing a consistent reduction to single-digit Covid-19 infections in the last 12 days. ICU bed use has reduced to 0%, compared to 30% a month before," he said.

Under Phase Four, all economic sectors could operate, with 100% workforce with the set SOPs.

Social activities such as festive celebrations and engagements could be conducted at a 50% capacity rate, with social distancing measures.

Negeri Sembilan had also moved to Phase Two of the NRP.

"In May, ICU bed usage was at 120%. However as of Aug 23, the current ICU bed use rate is at 40%. This is in line with the increasing vaccination rate, which currently stands at 72.3% for adults that have received both doses.

"This shows Negri Sembilan is on the right track to achieve herd immunity in the near future.

"Both Labuan and Negri Sembilan will enter their new phases from Aug 26,” he said on Tuesday (Aug 24).

On current vaccination statistics, Klang Valley was currently at 85.2% for adults with two doses of vaccines.

"The police and other enforcement agencies will increase surveillance at roadblocks to control cross-state travel, to control the spread of infection nationwide.

"Continue to practise self-lockdowns. Stay at home and practise healthy lifestyle habits with your families at home," he said.
