Dr Wee among political leaders present at swearing-in of ninth M'sian PM


KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob was sworn in as the ninth Prime Minister of Malaysia on Saturday (Aug 21) and took his oath of office before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara here.

Among those present at Istana Negara to witness the ceremony was Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

"Went to Istana Negara to witness the conferment of the instrument of appointment and taking the Oath of Office and Allegiance, as well as the Oath of Secrecy, by the ninth Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob," the MCA president said in a Facebook post Saturday.

In the Facebook post, Dr Wee also uploaded a selfie of him at the ceremony, as well other pictures of the event, including of Ismail Sabri taking his oath before the King.
