Two women escape gallows on reduced charge of drug possession


PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): Two women escaped the gallows on Monday (Aug 9) when the charge against them was reduced from trafficking in 212.7g of heroin and 82.2g of monoacetylmorphine to one of possession.

Zawani Zulkifli, unemployed, was instead sentenced to 15 years' jail while Nur Zahirah Yusoff, a former bus ticketing agent, was jailed for 13 years, both to run from the date of their arrest on Dec 18, 2016.
