PETALING JAYA: Over half of adults living in the Klang Valley have been fully vaccinated, says Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba (pic).
The Health Minister tweeted that 51.5% of the adult population in the Klang Valley have completed their Covid-19 vaccination as at Aug 8.
About 101.1%, he said, of the Klang Valley adult population have received at least one dose.
(The graphic provided by the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) explained that it exceeded 100% as the population statistics used did not account for undocumented migrants and changes in population since the last census.)
Cumulatively, 24,542,437 doses have been administered in the country.
Out of that number, 15,772,101 were first doses while the remaining 8,770,336 were second doses.
This means that to date, 67.4% of the adult population in Malaysia have received their first dose, while about 37.5% have already received two doses.
On Sunday (Aug 8), the number of doses administered was 389,641.
Dr Adham also clarified that the vaccination data for every Monday included figures from manual reports of outreach programmes.
