Perlis achieves 38.35% vaccination rate, gears up for Phase Three of NRP

KANGAR (Bernama): As of Wednesday (July 28), 38.35% of the adult population of Perlis have completed both doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

State Secretary Azman Mohd Yusof said Perlis is expected to enter Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) within a week.

“Perlis will soon move to Phase Three but the matter will be tabled in a special meeting of the National Security Council chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin," he said on Thursday (July 29).

Azman said the setting up of two vaccination centres (PPV) at Dewan 2020 here and Dewan Sri Melati in Beseri, as well as mobile vaccination units, had allowed people in the state to be given their shots faster.

The NRP announced on June 15 has underlined four transition phases assessed and considered based on three key threshold indicators, namely the average daily cases, bed occupancy at intensive care units, and the percentage of the adult population who are fully vaccinated.

So far, eight states have moved into Phase Two, namely Perlis, Perak, Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Penang, Sabah and Sarawak.

Earlier, Azman received a donation of 200 food kits from the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority through the "Mafi Prihatin" programme, to be distributed to frontliners at the state's PPVs. – Bernama
