KUALA LUMPUR: Air quality across most parts of the country remained at moderate levels on Saturday, with 54 of the 68 air quality monitoring stations recording readings between 51 and 100 on the Air Pollutant Index (API).
According to the Department of Environment (DOE), three stations recorded good air quality, with readings below 50.
They were Tanah Merah in Kelantan, Besut in Terengganu and Langkawi in Kedah.
However, the air quality at the Serian IPD station in Sarawak remained unhealthy, with an API reading of 146 as at 10am on Saturday.
The reading showed an improvement from 177 recorded at 10am on Friday.
Several other monitoring stations in Sarawak also recorded improvements in their API readings over the past 24 hours.
An API reading of 0 to 50 is classified as good, 51 to 100 as moderate and 101 to 200 as unhealthy.
