Dr Wee praises Khairy's confident, assertive briefing on Covid-19 national vaccination programme

PETALING JAYA: Khairy Jamaluddin gave a “confidently and assertively” comprehensive presentation, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

“Congratulations KJ. I am confident that KJ will be able to answer every question that will be raised by the MPs later,” he said in a show of support for a fellow Cabinet member on his official Facebook page on Wednesday (July 28).

He said in the post that the Science, Technology and Innovation Minister gave a presentation detailing among other things the implementation of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, the vaccine procurement process and the vaccine registration with the NPRA (National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency).

Dr Wee added that Khairy's presentation included information on the vaccine supply schedule, achievements or percentages of Malaysians vaccinated and vaccination targets according to plan.

He also posted pictures of him and Khairy, who was seated behind him in the Dewan Rakyat.

According to the Order Paper on the Parliament portal, matters related to the NIP would be clarified by Khairy – the NIP coordinating Minister - followed by a session for MPs to seek further clarification and give opinions, before questions are to be answered by the Minister.

Among the issues that MPs are expected to raise are the national vaccination rate, the procurement of vaccine supplies, vaccination centres (PPVs) and the issue of empty vaccine syringe shots.
