Dr Wee confident M’sian contingent will do well in Olympics

PETALING JAYA: The pandemic might have muted the Olympics 2020 opening ceremony in Tokyo but it did not dampen Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong's enthusiasm in wishing the Malaysian contingent well.

"I am confident that all our athletes will do well," he said in a Facebook post on Friday (July 23).

In his post, the MCA president showed a picture of the Malaysian contingent dressed in their colourful official attire.

The attire was designed by students at the Universiti Teknologi Mara Arts and Design Faculty who drew inspiration from the Jalur Gemilang as well as legendary warrior Hang Tuah.

Several of Dr Wee's followers commented on his post, leaving well wishes for our sportsmen and women.

"May the Malaysian contingent be granted good health and do their best in Tokyo," said Maszlinda Mohd Isa.

Another commenter, Saripuddin Kasim, also wished the athletes well and hope they will return with success.
