PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 4,611 Covid-19 cases on Monday (June 21), says the Health Ministry.
Cumulatively, the number of cases in the country passed the 700,000 mark, with 701,019 infections recorded since the start of the pandemic.
In a tweet, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor had the most cases with 1,346 infections.
This is followed by Sarawak (682 cases), Perak (453), Negri Sembilan (437), Johor (314), Kuala Lumpur (310), Melaka (205), Kedah (182), Sabah (166), Labuan (130), Penang (84), Pahang (50), Terengganu (18) and Putrajaya (15).
Perlis has zero cases.
In the same 24-hour span, 5,439 Covid-19 patients were discharged from treatment, bringing the country’s total recoveries to 633,624.
The number of active cases went down to 62,918.
Currently, there are 880 patients in intensive care units (ICU), with 452 requiring ventilator support.
The country also recorded 69 fatalities, taking the Covid-19 death toll up to 4,477.
