Several localities in Sabah, Sarawak under EMCO from Tuesday (June 15)


KUALA LUMPUR: Several localities in Sarawak and Sabah will be placed under enhanced movement control order from Tuesday (June 15).

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 54 positive cases were detected in Kampung Tabuan Hj Drahman in Kuching, Sarawak, following 138 screenings, he said in a statement on Sunday (June 13).

In Sabah, the EMCO will be imposed from Tuesday on Batu 3.5 Jalan Apas (Kiri), Tawau, Taman Puri Warisan, Kota Kinabalu, Taman Telipok Jaya and Kampung Penimbawan in Tuaran, as well as Kampung Lebak Moyoh, Kota Belud.

"At Batu 3.5, Jalan Apas (Kiri), 10 positive cases were recorded while at Taman Puri Warisan, 10 cases were also recorded.

"At Taman Telipok Jaya and Kampung Penimbawan, 23 positive cases were recorded while in Kampung Lebak Moyoh, eight cases were recorded," he said.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said the EMCO at Taman Pelangi, Semporna and Kampung Tanjung Kapor, Kudat, Sabah, which was scheduled to end on Monday (June 14), would be extended to June 28.

"At Taman Pelangi, 86 positive cases were detected from 832 screenings, while at Kampung Tanjung Kapor, 30 cases were detected from 492 screenings.

"The Health Ministry confirmed that the virus was still being spread among the communities there," he said.
