Lawyers must get police permits to travel to represent clients, says Takiyuddin

PETALING JAYA: Legal services are not essential services and therefore, lawyers need to get police permits to travel to represent their clients, says Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (pic).

In a statement issued on Tuesday (June 1), the Law Minister stated that as lawyers still need to be physically present in court for new charges, remand orders, and various applications in criminal cases, they would have to go to the nearest police station to get their travel permits.
